We were looking for the purest water to supply our customers with bottled water products. We found it in Moore county, Texas. The water comes from a deep aquifer well. The water has to be tested by the state of Texas as Texas has very stringent rules for bottled water. The Texas Dept. of Health wants a test done on the finished product on every batch of water that is bottled. The well falls under the Texas Dept. of Health jurisdiction and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). They require that we operate the well in the same fashion as if it was a public water municipality, and we must perform routine testing for bacterial analysis as well as various chemical analyses.

It comes out of the well with a natural pH balance of 7.2 to 7.4. Every batch of water has to be checked for bacteria. So far the well has never had any bacteria, insecticides, herbicides. We need to test for radon gas and radionuclides ( which include aplph and beta particles and photon emitters). We also have to test for radium and uranium. The full range of testing we have to complete on the well is listed below the Federal EPA site for drinking water standards. Product standards and testing requirements are separate and are definded by the Texas Dept. of Health, but closely follow these standards. EPA website is: www.epa.gov./safewater/mcl.html#mcls

We have pH tested a lot of bottled water and it is really hard to find any that has a natural pH balance. It appears that most bottled water is put through a reverse osmosis unit which takes out all of the minerals that gives water the refreshing taste and takes down the pH, the same thing happens with distilled water, all of the minerals are removed.
